Cala Pou des Lleo

Cala Pou des Lleo

Cala Pou des Lleo, Ibiza, Balearics, Spain
Situated on the northeastern coast of the island with direct views of Tagomago Island and village of San Carlos on the west. The name means “Lions Well” and was named after a sweet spring close to the shore, which is now almost dry. The small horseshoe shaped inlet beach is mainly of pebble and sand surrounded by low lying rust red coloured cliffs, and a selection of fisherman’s huts. This is a popular haunt for the local families who during the hot summer nights often converge for family barbeques.
A snack bar and restaurant serving snacks and grilled fish can be found here in high season. Approx 1 km further from the restaurant you will come across a winding road that leads to a 17th century defence tower “Torre d’en Vals” which is set among some of the few lava rocks on the island. From this vantage point there are panoramic views across the ocean towards the privately owned island of Tagomago.
