Cala Gracio

Cala Gracio, Ibiza, Balearics, Spain
Although only approx 1km from San Antonio's hustle and bustle the beach at Cala Gracio is a welcome surprise. The bay has a long beach of fine white sand and shallow water which stretches back some 100m from the sea.. This is a popular area for families staying at the nearby hotels and resorts close to the bay. The bay does tend to get busy in the peak summer months. Sun beds, pedalos and umbrellas are normally available for hire between May to October. Nestled at the southern end of the bay in an old smugglers cove is the modest Aquarium Cap Blanc which is open daily in the season. The aquarium is home to a variety of Mediterranean sea life. The neighbouring hidden beach of Cala Gracioneta is surprisingly beautiful and peaceful and can be reached by a path adjacent to fishing huts on the north side of Cala Gracio. It is barely 30m wide with a very small area of pale sand nestled between a shoreline of pines and sheltered water. A delightful restaurant is to be found here where the food is served almost at the waters edge.
